How to increase the capacity of an old laptop
In today's digital age, computers have become a must. The need for powerful computers is also increasing.
At a time when daily work is done digitally, it is very important to have a smart computer. If there is a 32-bit operating system, only 4 GB of RAM can be kept at most.
Similarly, you can increase the capacity of your laptop by adding RAM according to the slot in the 64-bit operating system. Today we are discussing how to know how many bits of operating system your laptop has, whether there is a separate slot for RAM or not.
How to know the operating system bit of Windows laptop?
For this, first go to the system in the settings of the laptop.
Then go to About in Settings.
There you will find your 'System Information'.
Under 'Device Specification', 'System Type' shows how many bits of operating system your laptop supports. As an example, you can see in the picture below that the laptop we used supports a 64-bit operating system.
A laptop is not only 64 bit. Whether a separate slot is provided for RAM is also important. If a separate slot for RAM is not available, then you need to upgrade the RAM in your computer. In other words, if there is 4 GB of RAM, you have to put 8 GB of RAM in the same slot while upgrading. But the RAM cannot be increased to 8 GB by keeping another 4 GB separately.
How to know how many slots for RAM are in your laptop?
For this, first open the task manager by pressing Control, Shift and Esc (Ctrl + shift + Esc) button together on your laptop.
