Social media seems to create more harm than good for people. According to a recent study, it is said that social networks are becoming more risky day by day.



According to a research published in the 'General of Global Information Management', social media has not only affected the mental but also the physical health of individuals. Between 2003 and 2018, based on more than 50 questions about social media, Sydney's University of Technology discovered more than four dozen effects of social media.


According to Sodh, there are mainly 6 types of side effects of social media. In which concerns about privacy, security risks, concerns about reduction or increase in exposure, social transactions, content that creates harassment and distress, and cyber crime or violence are considered as the main problems.

This research has emphasized the fact that the use of social media has an effect on the psychology of a person. Many people complain that their lives are not 'perfect' by comparing themselves with other people on social media. Such people have a special type of mental illness called 'Social Media Anxiety Disorder'. These types of users fall prey to depression knowingly or unknowingly.

Recently, Facebook has changed its company name to Meta. According to Mark Zuckerberg's plan, the next social network will have all the facilities from housework, job, and entertainment. In this kind of virtual world, a person communicates very little with another person. People consider the Internet to be a living world and think that they have entered their world only when they enter their screen. On such a 3D digital platform called Metaverse, you can make a video call or connect to the network and feel as if you are at home, office or in the market.


This will allow you to connect directly to drama, music and other programs. From visiting a tourist area, you can see or show artwork according to the convenience of Metaverse.

As the first social networking platform, a network called Degrees was launched in New York in the United States in 1997. At one time it had more than 3.5 million users. Which was founded by Andrew Winrich.

Facebook, which started in the same year, changed everyone's life. Currently, there are 2.85 billion Facebook users in the world.

Similarly, in terms of users, YouTube ranks second and Facebook ranks third in India. The number of YouTube users in India is around 450 million while there are 410 million people using Facebook. In recent years, Instagram is also becoming popular in India. There are 21 million Instagram users.
