How does yoga relieve stress-related diseases?
Even though daily life has become easier through new technology or premature death caused by diseases has been prevented through modern treatment, people have not been able to get rid of stress. Instead, the number of people who are under stress due to personal physical and social reasons is increasing.
Due to unlimited desires and social interactions caused by consumerism and materialism, tensions are also increasing.
Stress is a condition especially felt by a person's conscious mind, which can also be considered mental illness or deviation from balance. Stress arises in the mind due to sufferings in the mind, and any physical, financial, family and social events also become the cause of stress.
Mental state affects any disease and health. Stress increases physical diseases and other physical diseases also become the cause of mental stress. Most of the diseases have some kind of inflammation. Inflammation can also occur in different parts, tissues or cells of the body due to infection of various germs and viruses, external and internal injuries, tumors etc. and the tissue can be created.
There are two types of inflammation - short-term and long-term. Externally, it is manifested by inflammation, wounds, etc. Such internal inflammation or wound can be cured by care, stress relief, nutrition, and effective drug treatment if necessary. Stress increases this inflammation.
Stress occurs when the balance in the body is disturbed by any kind of physical and psychological stimulation. As a result, it hinders the behavior and internal physical functioning of the person.
Mental stress is also of different types - temporary and long term. Stress arises in the mind due to various reasons such as fear, panic, negative thoughts, pressure at the workplace, ambition, competition, desire to be the best, etc. Any disease, insomnia is also the cause of stress.
Cellular effects of stress
Some stress is acute and short-term and some have long-term effects.
Early acute effects of stress
At the beginning of stress, our automatic nervous system is stimulated and neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine and epinephrine start to be released. As a result, the affected muscles, blood vessels shrink, pulse or heart rate increases.
Slow and long lasting effects
Persistent stress creates arousal in our autonomic nervous system and arousal center (hypothalamus). As a result, the effect of the hormone cortisol increases. Due to the effect of cortisol, the amount of glucose in the blood increases, instead of reducing the immunity, more diseases or wounds can be aggravated or severe.
Body systems and components affected by stress
Stress affects all body systems such as circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, muscular and nervous systems. Stress stimulates the sympathetic system and increases the contraction of the heart muscle with immediate acceleration. Strokes and heart attacks also occur due to stress.
Stress and the brain
Different parts of the stress brain, such as limbic, hypothalamus, hippocampus, amygdala, which are related to excitement, are in the regulation of the front part of the brain related to our consciousness, thoughts, conscience, and knowledge. If things like intelligence, conscience, knowledge are destroyed and the centers related to excitement or subconscious mind are dominated, uncontrollable tension is created. In this situation, people are not only excited, but sometimes they even become arrogant to commit suicide.
Stress test
The stress created in a person's brain can be tested on the basis of the symptoms mentioned above and the symptoms of the heart, pulse, respiration etc. Similarly, some tests can be done for the sympathetic system. Otherwise, it will not be possible to test with a CT scan or a simple MRI. It can be tested with some electrical waves through the skin.
Treating stress
Medical science has drugs to relieve stress. Most of them are sleep-inducing types. Addiction also increases with the use of such allopathic medicines.
The Role of Yoga Sutras in Stress
In Maharishi Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, Chitta is used as one of the four mental organs (mind, intellect, ego and mind).
About 2500 years ago, Maharishi Patanjali had prescribed Yoga Sutras for the treatment of diseases of the mind and Ayurveda for the treatment of the body. Although allopathic treatment is becoming accepted for physical diseases, Maharishi Patanjali's Yoga Sutra is eternal and scientific in the treatment of the mind.

In order to achieve full yoga status only, one must restrain the instincts of the mind through the practice of dispassion, which is not possible for an ordinary yoga practitioner throughout his life.
Yoga Sadhana is basically the way to calm the mind and the mind. If the klesha vrittis of the mind can be restrained by practice and dispassion, one can enter complete samadhi. Obstruction in breathing These five helpful distractions are also symptoms of mental disturbance and stress.
Compound Remedies to Relieve Stress

Further, through yoga practice and apar vairagya, the mind becomes calm, concentrated and restrained along with spiritual knowledge, and gradually through Savija (samprajnat, unsamprajnat) and sanskaras are also restricted and can attain the position of Yogavyasileb Kaivalya.
